Space Urban Engaged by Kleinfelder for Darling Point Solar Project

The Darlington Point Solar farm has been constructed under a joint venture between Signal Energy Australia and Canadian Solar. After completion, the Darlington Point Solar Farm will include over one million solar panels and generate enough electricity to power approximately 115,000 homes.

Space Urban utilised their in-house environmental management capabilities to assist Kleinfelder Australia in their role as the Darlington Point Solar Farm Environmental Representative. Space Urban provided environmental monitoring and reporting required under regulatory and statutory approvals for the construction of the Project, and worked directly with Signal Energy Australia and Kleinfelder Australia to manage construction of an approximate 710ha solar farm (measuring over 2km north to south and almost 6km east to west) in an environmentally sustainable manner.

Since beginning it has created 500 construction jobs and a local micro-economy. Every year, renewable energy generated by the Darlington Point solar farm reaches 685,000 MWh. With this generation, it is expected to offset the equivalent of 154,000 tonnes of CO2 emissions in 35 years.

The Darlington Point Solar project is located in the Riverina area of New South Wales. Approximately 10 km south of Darlington Point, this solar farm is situated on the traditional lands of the Wiradjuri people.
