Space Urban's Kick Start in Timber and Truss Facility in NSW

Behind every new build and grand opening is the drafting, planning and approvals stage. Space Urban reflects on this development that was months in the making and what it took to get it off the ground.
Space Urban's Kick Start in Timber and Truss Facility in NSW

Space Urban (a Borg company) is an Australian property development company, that has successfully prepared and secured regulatory approvals including Development Approvals and Modifications, Construction Certificates and Occupational Certificates for an external client in a new timber truss manufacturing facility in Beresfield, New South Wales (NSW).

The project, commissioned by external client Bay Timber, involved the construction of a new industrial building and office site covering an area of 36,340 m² equivalent to just over five soccer fields.

Space Urban was responsible for all aspects of the project, including design, rendering, and the submission and acquisition of the Development Application (DA) and Construction Certificate (CC) applications.

The successful completion of the project was made possible through close coordination and strong relationships with technical consultants. This included Newcastle City Council, CrossmullerEclipse, Meraki Green, Marline, Credwell, Steve Watson and Partners, Affinity, NM Fire and Custom Development Certifications. Space Urban's team of in-house professionals, including Architectural Drafting and Design, Environmental Planning and Approvals, and all facets of Property Development, provided innovative solutions for Bay Timber throughout the project.

The new facility will enable Bay Timber to expand its operations and increase its production capacity in the region. The project's completion is a significant milestone for both Space Urban and Bay Timber, as it marks the successful delivery of a development that required expertise in various areas of property development.
